I just got a hard copy of the children's section of Answers magazine. I worked on this project during the month of May and it's awesome to finally have it in hand to show off. The magazine has some great design and illustration used throughout. The design staff is very talented; they did some great work on this thing.

Climatic Brochure
A recent project of mine. I was asked by a marketing department to research information on repairing or replacing major home appliances and to then make a brochure to educate the company's dealers. It's a simple project...I looked at some blue prints and electrical diagrams for ac units and decided to mirror them in the design of the brochure. I though the dealers would be able to relate to that idea, maybe even find it a little humorous.

Todd and the book of pure evil mock book cover
I recently watched the tv show, Tod and the book of pure evil...loved it. Thought it would be fun to draw the characters on a mock book cover...

Embrace Logo
A logo for a women's outreach group...they wanted something really soft and girly. My suggestion was kinda cheesy...but I was like "women = flowers", "embrace = hands"...so this was the result.

Village Square Logo Redesign
I noticed recently that the somewhat local little theater is having to use clip art for their logo...so I decided to take a crack at helping them redesign their logo. Most of their productions are children-based, geared at younger audiences, so I wanted to make a logo that was fun, slightly wonky, and that would help promote the child friendly atmosphere of the productions. I really wanted to use a backdrop in the design; backdrops were always the most memorable aspects of the dramatic productions I attended as a child....I chose a font that wasn't too "kiddified", but not too serious either. With this in the bag, I'm going to move on to redesigning their web page, which could really use some tender loving care....

Columbia Crossroads Summer Program Poster Design
The final poster for the Crossroads Summer Academy. I really like David Hockney's polaroid photo collages, so I tried a little bit of that in this image.

Graphic Design Work: Ci Ci's Ad for Columbia
I'm kicking off a long-term project working with some local restaurants
in the Columbia area. Basically, I will be responsible for redesigning
print ads, updating logos, and making menus and other printing materials
more professional-looking.
This design for Ci Ci's is the first of what will be many graphic design-related posts
that I will be posting over the next couple of months. With this ad, I was wanting
to high-light one of Ci Ci's big draws, which is the variety of pizzas they have on the buffet.
Working on this made me hungry...too bad all I have to eat right now is tomato soup....sigh....
