In the 90's Marvel put out some truly exceptional collectible card sets. Two card sets in particular fostered a life long obsession in myself over becoming a comic book artist. The first was the Marvel Masterworks card set featuring paintings by the Brothers Hildebrandt and the second was Fleer's 1994 Spiderman set with artwork by Mark Bagley. A number of factors made this Spiderman set stand out in my mind as exceptional. The first was that Spiderman was one the comics that motivated me to learn how to read, the second was the artwork and it's coloring, the third was how most of the cards in the set fit together as a single huge image.
